Wherever
Jesus would go, a huge crowd would gather. Some folks were just curious, others
in disbelief and some with faith. Jesus
was always "squeezed" by the
crowd.
When
we were walking down The Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem, it was just an ordinary day
and there was no celebrity walking through that street and it was crowded. I
can imagine how it would be for Jesus to walk anywhere on those days!
But
suddenly something happened: At once Jesus realized that power had gone
out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, "Who touched my
clothes?" 5:30(NIV)
But His disciples
said to Him, "You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, 'Who
touched Me?"' Mark
5:30(NKJV)
This
exactly what happens in our days, many people goes to the church, many people
pray, many people read their Bibles and many really do some church works; they
also touch Jesus but only few people "get the power" out of Jesus.
Why?
For she kept
saying, If I only touch His garments, I shall be restored to health. Mark 5:28(AMP)
She
kept saying! She kept saying! Whatever we think, it will eventually come out of
our mouths. She convinced herself that if she only touches his garments she
would be healed. She did not try to convince Jesus regarding her disease, she
convinced herself about Jesus' power instead!
Even though she
had been treated by many doctors. She had spent all her money, but instead of
getting better she got worse all the time. Mark 5:26 (GNT)
When
she heard that Jesus was in town, she didn't think for a single moment about
all her frustrated attempts to get healed. She just thought about the victory!
This
is exactly what happens inside of the church. Jesus is in town, Jesus is
present! But the person comes to church convinced that she will leave the
service in the same way she came in. They do not confess: " I will go to
church, I will touch Jesus through my prayers and I will get blessed." They
may confess all kind of defeat and short comes and even curses, instead.
Confess
your victory. Keep on saying it. Convince yourself. God does not need to be
persuaded about HIS power but we do have.
Some
people pray: "Lord if you can, please help me." The Lord knows that
HE cans, but do you believe that HE cans? Are you sure?
Immediately her
bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her
suffering. Mark 5:29(NIV)
That
woman was freed from her troubles because she had such a great conviction, she
did not wave in her belief despite of her situation . She was so sure about
Jesus, that power was released.
In
times of troubles, we tend to talk about the mountains (problems) but sometimes
we do not talk to the mountain. We have to speak to the mountains: "Get
out of my life!" And we should keep on saying it, for as long as it is
necessary.
When
we focus on our problems, we harder our hearts to the Words of God and His
Promises. When we focus on the Lord and
in His Words, we harder our hearts to the problems and once we neglect our
troubles to hold tightly In Jesus' hand, the miracle happens.
Shalom!
Be blessed.
